Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a new roof going to cost me?
There are several factors that will determine the cost of a new roof.  The number one factor is the pitch (slope) of the roof. Other factors are the type of shingle you select, the quality of the material that are used and the amount of roof space to be covered.  The best way to know for sure is to have a reputable roofing contractor come to your home and measure your roof; and return with a written estimate.

Do you tear my old roof off?
Yes.  In over 21 years, we have never installed one shingles over another existing shingle for several reasons.  First and foremost, it could affect your warranty.  Second, the
pre-existing shingle can accumulate moisture, causing mold and mildew, and rotting out the existing decking over time.  This causes your nails to rust and back out.

Do you install a ventilation system for a roof as recommended by all shingle manufacturers?
Yes.  This is the most important thing you can do for the longevity of the life of the shingle.  Without one, it can be 90° outside and be up to 300° in your attic. The interior heat inside your attic can literally bake the bottom of your shingle, drying out the petroleum in the shingle.  When this happens, it could cut the life of your shingle almost in half.
